The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued an alert regarding this. According to CERT-In, hackers have an eye on Zoom's videos and audios and due to its vulnerability, hackers can easily hack it. Zoom and the government have advised every user to update it. According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, it has been confirmed that hackers can take control of audio and video feeds and due to this, video or audio meetings can also be interrupted.

How was it identified?

The government and Zoom have identified this vulnerability as CVE-2022-28758, CVE-2022-28759, and CVE-2022-28760, which could affect Zoom's on-premises meeting connector MMR. Zoom reported that in fact, in the on-premises meeting connector MMR, the organization connects the meeting connector virtual machine to the internal company network. Through this, companies are able to hold meetings on the private cloud. However, on September 19, the government issued an alert regarding this. Zoom had issued an advisory on 13 September itself.


Update to the latest version of Zoom

To update Zoom on Windows, macOS or Linux, log in to Zoom.
