Vivo informed that by the end of this month, the company will release software for most of its 5G enabled smartphones, which can work for standalone and non-standalone 5G networks. Only 5G signal will be available in standalone 5G network but in non-standalone 5G network both 4G and 5G will be available. At present, Reliance Jio is providing the facility of standalone 5G network while Bharti Airtel is providing the facility of non-standalone 5G network. Recently, Vivo has launched 30 smartphones for 5G service, which will also work on non-standalone 5G networks.
Information given on the occasion of Vivo Tech Day
Vivo India Business Strategy Head Paigum Danish informed on the occasion of Vivo Tech Day that more than 6 of our smartphones support 5G standalone network. Apart from this, most of our smartphones support non standalone networks. Therefore, by the end of this month, the company will update the software for all smartphones so that all phones can take advantage of the 5G standalone network.
According to IDC data, Vivo is the third largest smartphone seller in India. According to market research conducted by IDC, the company has a market share of around 17 per cent in terms of volume in the April-June 2022 quarter.
The meeting was held to release the software
Recently, the central government had a meeting with telecom and smartphone makers, in which it was talked about updating the software for 5G service. In the meeting, the mobile phone makers have assured that by November, software will be updated on every 5G enabled handset.
