More than 22 lakh accounts banned

WhatsApp has informed in its release that between June 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022, 22,10,000 accounts have been banned. These accounts have been banned based on the complaint received from the user. Apart from this, the company has also banned those WhatsApp accounts, which were violating the Indian IT Act.


632 complaints were received in the month of June


Let us inform that in the release issued by WhatsApp, it was informed that in the month of June, the company had received more than 600 complaints. Of these, action has been taken on 64 complaints. Let us inform that in the month of May also, WhatsApp had received 528 complaints, out of which action was taken on 24 complaints. More than 19 lakh WhatsApp accounts have been banned in the month of May.

Any WhatsApp account that does not follow the terms and conditions, they are banned. According to the company's terms and conditions, no one can share illegal, obscene, threatening and hate content on WhatsApp.


What is the new IT Rule, 2021?

According to the new IT rule, digital platforms having more than 5 million users have to publish a report every month. In this report, the company will have to give information about the complaints received and the action taken on them.
