The new red warning feature for Google Chat will be available for all Google Workplace users, old G Suite Basic and Business customers, and personal Google Account users.
Google is going to add a bright red warning banner to the chat to alert users of fake invites and links. This feature has been rolled out and it will be visible on both the mobile and desktop platforms of Google Chat soon. As soon as any suspicious message is received, Google will flag it through the message "this invite is suspicious" inside the bright red box. Or this conversation contains links to known phishing sites that may try to steal your information" to which you can reply with either 'Block' or 'Accept Anyway' as the message will alert users. A large bright red Such warning signs will appear in the banner with the invitation "from users with personal Google accounts".
Will alert users
This new feature is not a full proof way to stop malware, but through this, users will get alerts for harmful message links etc.
What's special about the feature
This feature is not completely new to other Google Suite services and has been reintroduced to Gmail and Google Drive for some time. It may take some time to reach customers around the world.
