Airfare Price Hike: In the last few days, if you have made a plan to travel or have booked a flight ticket for some important work, then you must have noticed that the flight prices have increased a lot as compared to earlier. Expensive air tickets are hitting your pocket directly. Right now you have to pay 30-40 per cent more when compared to January 2022. On the other hand, if compared to the previous year, the prices of flight tickets have increased by up to 50 percent. In some sectors, these prices have doubled directly.

The biggest reason behind the cost of flights is the rise in the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel ie ATF. Let us tell you that with the help of this fuel, the flight flies. In such a situation, the direct effect of the increase in its price is seen in the price of your ticket.

Price increased by 50 percent compared to last year

In the same month, in the country's capital Delhi, the prices of ATF have gone up by 5 per cent per kg. After which it has become 1.23 lakh rupees. This was the tenth jump in ATF prices this year. Jet was Rs 72,062 per kg on January 1, 2022, which has now increased by 61.7 per cent to Rs 1.23 lakh.

Why are the prices of ATF increasing?

The main reason for the rise in ATF prices is the Russia-Ukraine war, which has led to a record jump in crude prices. Airlines have put the direct burden of this increase in prices on the customers.

Prices are revised twice every month

Let us inform that on the 1st and 16th of every month, the prices of jet fuel are revised. It can be more or less anything. For any airline, the cost of jet fuel is 40% of its total operational cost.

dependent on foreign

India is dependent on foreign countries to meet its oil requirements. About 85 percent of the total oil needs of the country come from outside. In such a situation, our import power is also weakening due to the fall of the rupee. On the other hand, people are traveling fiercely since the terror of Corona epidemic subsided. At the same time, due to the scorching heat, people are preferring to go by flight more. This imbalance of demand and supply has increased the prices of flight tickets.
